I will be your God throughout your lifetime--until your hair is white
with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save
you. (Isaiah 46:4 New Living Translation)
We know that sooner or later, old age will catch up with us. Eventually, our ability to serve will be more limited than it once was. Someday, we'll grow weak and be reduced to dependence upon those around
us.
But even to your old age, God will be the same. He who watched over you in your childhood years will not leave you in your declining
years. His tenderness and care will extend to old age and gray hairs.
Even when friends grow cold and forget to follow up on their promises, He never will. And when your body feels a thousand aches and your mind thinks a
thousand worries, He will be the same in his affection and care.
He will be the same in his power and protection from the moment you
were born until your last day. He will love you to the very end.
He will not only guide and lead you but he will also carry you in your
helplessness. He will not leave you to perish in your weakness.
Dear Lord, we thank you for sustaining us through joys and sorrows,
through victories and trials, through childhood and adulthood. Thank you
for we know that you didn't save us only to disregard our prayers. You didn't
teach us to walk just to watch us fall. You weren't nailed to the cross only to
leave us in our worries and concerns. Thank you for your promise to love us
forever, throughout our lifetime, to the very end. In Jesus' name, Amen.
