Saturday Night Movie Date |
Four minutes, eight seconds
into the film, “The Sound of Music”, I started tearing up a bit. And that’s an embarrassing
new record. But no tears left my eyes. That’s for sure. For I know my wife to
be so attentive and she was just waiting for that special moment, so she could
smirk at me.
What got me was a line from the opening scene
with all the beautiful valleys, the calming view of the lakes, the brook, the
mountains and that spectacular hilltop masterpiece with the Alps as the
backdrop, where Maria spins in the pasture and sings, “The hills are alive,
with the sound of music…”
It was this line:
“I go to the hills when my heart
is lonely
I know I will hear what I've
heard before”
It reminded me of who God is in my life. It
reminded me of how He’s always been there for me. It reminded me of what I’m
here for.
God, you are my refuge, my strength and my
comfort.
I go to You for everything, especially when I
feel lost and weak.
You never fail to bring me back on track with
you.
You never fail to remind me of who You are in
my life, how much You love me and what I’m here for.
I am called by You, to You and for You.
I belong to You, God.
Thank You, Father.
Thank You, Father.
