This morning, while reading Isaiah 3 & 4, my eyes were opened to a disturbing truth - the dire consequences of the failure of men to lead. It made me pause and think hard on the importance of my role as a man.

In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, "We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!" Isaiah 4:1 NIV

 In that day ---

A calamitous period where mighty men have fallen (Your men shall fall by the sword and your mighty men in battle. Isaiah 3:25 ESV).

In today’s world, death of manhood means real men – those after God’s heart - have
become so scarce.

Seven women will take hold of one man ---

The very short supply of real men will cause women to act contrary to their natural modesty, desperately seeking husbands for themselves but there will not be enough for each one of them to have.

We (women) will eat our own food and provide our own clothes ---

Death of manhood will deprive women of the financial and physical support they need from their husbands. They’ll be willing to be self-supporting, asking no support from men.

Only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace! ---

Death of manhood will deprive women of the opportunity to be married and have children.

When men don’t lead, women suffer.
When men don’t lead, the values that govern the world is turned upside down, leading to its destruction.

God is looking for men.

He is looking for men who will build up the walls and stand in the breach before Him to protect His land from the enemy.

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him.  2Chronicles 16:9a ESV
