It’s funny how we’ve become so much like google with its “autofill”
feature. We want to seek God so we type “His face” in our mind only to find ourselves consuming
Facebook instead.
It’s even more comical but very saddening when we ask God
why we can’t focus, why our hearts don’t have a single vision and a dream for our country
that we’d like to devote our lives to. We ask Him why we’re so distracted and why
there’s so much going on in our minds.
The other day, we visited Apolinario Mabini’s Shrine in Talaga,
Tanauan City, Batangas.

Here’s a Hero.
A product of local educational institutions. His intellect,
contributing significantly to the founding of our
nation, was way ahead of its time, despite growing up in extreme poverty.
Our country needs heroes like him. People who are willing to
be stripped off life’s inessentials so they can focus on their mission - the
really important stuff.
Nowadays, both children and adults are glued to their smart
phones, consuming social media with unprecedented volume. We are too digitally
connected to the point where we have forgotten how to interact with God with greater
intimacy. Gone are the days when we value time with Him, in thought, reflection and action.
We, as God’s children, are being called right now to humble
and consecrate ourselves, to pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked
ways. He wants to heal our land.
If my people who are called by my name HUMBLE themselves,
and PRAY and SEEK MY FACE and TURN from their wicked ways, then I will HEAR
from heaven and will FORGIVE their sin and HEAL their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
May a new generation of Filipinos rise up. Filipinos who love God and are willing to serve our country.
